I grew up on a farm near Freeman, SD and graduated from Freeman High School.  Mom and Dad raised four of us; I'm the oldest and have two sisters and a brother.

Ever since I was little and visited a country schoolhouse, my dream has been to teach.  I enjoy working with kids and challenging them to do their best!  I have had quite a variety of teaching experiences.  Full-time teaching experiences were at Freeman High School (1978-1979), the State Training School and Juvenile Prison at Plankinton (1997-1999), and
White Lake (1999-present).  I also did a lot of substitute teaching, covering most subject areas and all grade levels.  Long-term sub assignments (covering seven weeks or more) were 7th grade at Stickney, 6th grade at Plankinton, 1st-2nd grades as well as 7th-8th grade English at New Holland Christian, and High School English at Stickney.

I spent the next four years at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa and graduated with a B.A. degree in Secondary Education--Business Education.
In May 2011, I received my Masters Degree in American History.
I married Steven Schuldt in September of 1978.  We live on a farm southeast of White Lake.  Steven works for Christian radio.  We have two grown children, Jason and Rachel.  Both are married so our family expanded with a daughter-in-law named Alexia and a son-in-law named Forrest.  We also have three grandchildren:  Aubrey, Nolan, and Cody.  Being a Grandma is LOTS of fun!
